The students of HSP and CASCADE CLUB of H.R. College of Commerce & Economics enthusiastically welcomed the Teachers and Dignitaries with slogans of "Inqalab Zindabad", "Vande Mataram" and "Sarfaroshi ki tamanna".
The events commenced with the hoisting of the Tricolour by the I/C Principal Mr. Parag Thakkar and the singing of the National Anthem by all present. This was followed by a scintillating cultural show starting with a Welcome Dance performed by the students, invoking the blessings of Lord Shiva. After this performance, there was an impactful drama which portrayed the various social evils that plague today’s society. Next came an attention grabbing, effective and patriotic speech, spoke about India's achievements over the past years and H.R. College's contribution to the same.
The drama and the speech both beautifully captured the essence of the occasion by invoking feelings of nationalism and patriotism in the audience. This was followed by a Hip-Hop dance performance. The energetic dance filled the atmosphere with a renewed vigour. The melodious choir group sung patriotic songs after the dance performance. Their energy - packed singing had the audience's hair stand at its end.
The Theme Dance was an apt finale to the celebration. With minimal dialogues, the students succeeded in communicating the importance of Indian Soldiers who nobly and selflessly guard us as from the icy terrain of the North to the scorching heat of the West. It succeeded in completely moving the audience emotionally, some viewers had tears welled up in their eyes.
The programme ended with the Vote of Thanks and a few inspiring words by the I/C Principal Mr. Parag Thakkar who commended the efforts of the club teachers of HSP and Cascade, Ms. Sheela Shahe and Ms. Rashmi Redkar respectively. Each individual left the venue with a renewed sense of patriotism and a will to work for the development of India.
