THE STUDENTS’ COUNCIL

The Students’ Council is a student body consisting of student representatives from various classes as well as from NSS and cultural committees and has always worked on the ideals of 'For the students, by the students. The Council helps the college to conduct various activities like admissions, arranging seminars, distribution of results, alumni meetings, and many more.

The purpose of the Students’ Council is to allow students to develop leadership by organizing and carrying out college activities and service projects. In addition to planning events that contribute to college spirit and community welfare, the student council is the voice of the student body. It works towards the betterment of the students and their college experience. The Council consists of 8 departments, 23 core members, and 450+ sub-committee members working together for all the activities. This prestigious apex body serves as a bridge between the students and the college. We firmly believe in and abide by the motto, 'Students of today, leaders of tomorrow.'


ACTIVITIES 2024-2025

FY Self-Financed Degree Orientation

The Students’ Council of H.R. College organized the FY Self-Financed Degree Orientation on 3 August 2024 at the Rama & Sundri Watumull Auditorium. The event featured Chief Guest Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani, Guest of Honour IPS Officer Mr. Vishwas Nagre, Principal Dr. Pooja Ramchandani, and other key faculty members.

The program began with the Lighting of the Lamp, followed by cultural performances and the screening of an H.R. College video. Principal Dr. Ramchandani welcomed students, calling them future leaders and brand ambassadors of the college. Dr. Hiranandani emphasized the importance of fitness, while Mr. Nagre shared his experiences from the 26/11 attacks, inspiring the audience with patriotic poems.

"Voyager," the H.R. College magazine, was released, and CA rankers were felicitated. The Students’ Council Core Committee for 2024-25 was introduced, along with faculty and club leaders. The Enactus Club promoted their "Aajeevika" project, and the Cultural Committee invited students to participate in Malhar ’24. Vice Principal Dr. Rani Tyagi explained the examination and credit systems, followed by presentations from the Parents Connect Club and International Programmes Committee.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks and the National Anthem.

**FYBCom Orientation Report 2024-25**

The Students’ Council of H.R. College organized the FYBCom Orientation on 6 August 2024 at the Rama & Sundri Watumull Auditorium. The event began with the arrival of Chief Guest Ms. Maya Shahani, Principal Dr. Pooja Ramchandani, Vice Principals Dr. Rani Tyagi and Dr. Jasbir Kaur Sodi, faculty members, and students.

The program opened with the Lighting of the Lamp and a traditional dance performance by Niharika Ghadigaonkar, followed by a Sindhi cultural dance by the Sindhi Society. An H.R. College video showcasing the past year's events was then screened.

Principal Dr. Pooja Ramchandani welcomed the students, referring to them as the brand ambassadors of the college. Chief Guest Ms. Maya Shahani shared insights on self-belief and the history of HSNC University. The event also included the release of the college's official magazine, "Voyager," and the felicitation of CA rankers.

The Students’ Council Core Committee for 2024-25 was introduced, and Vice Principal Dr. Jasbir Kaur Sodi presented the BCom faculty. Leaders of the college's 40+ clubs and committees were introduced, followed by a captivating dance performance by Bhoomika Sharma and Bhoomika Haswani from the Cultural Committee, who also invited students to participate in Malhar ’24.

Vice Principal Dr. Rani Tyagi provided an overview of the Examination System, while the International Programmes Committee and The H.R. Litterateurs shared information about their activities and invited students to join.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Joint General Secretary Aniruddha Devgire, followed by the National Anthem.

Bandhan – Thread of Love

In celebration of Rakshabandhan, the National Association for the Blind (NAB) set up a stall at H.R. College to showcase handcrafted rakhis made by blind artists. The event, named "Bandhan," focused on inclusivity, empowerment, and social responsibility.

Key Highlights:

- Stall: Displayed unique, intricately designed handcrafted rakhis. - Student Participation: Students assisted with sales, marketing, and crowd management. - NAB Stories: The NAB team shared inspiring stories about the blind artists. - Fundraising: Over ₹3000 was raised to support NAB’s initiatives. - Impact: The event promoted unity, empathy, and social responsibility among students.

"Bandhan" was a successful initiative that highlighted the spirit of inclusivity and social support, thanks to the collaborative efforts of NAB, college students, and administration.

ANTI RAGGING CAMPAIGN 2024-25 REPORT

August 12 to August 18

The Students’ Council of H.R. College ran an Anti-Ragging Campaign to foster a safe and respectful environment. The initiative, aligned with UGC guidelines, included classroom sessions to educate students and encourage reporting of ragging incidents. A patrol from Marine Drive to Oval Maidan distributed pamphlets and raised public awareness. The campaign also featured anti-ragging messages sent via college groups, creative photo booths with slogans, and a poster-making competition with digital anti-ragging messages. These efforts collectively promoted a strong anti-ragging culture and reinforced the importance of a safe college environment.

Dhvani Bhanushali Returns to H.R. College

August 24, 2024         Attendees: 100+ students

On August 24, 2024, renowned singer-actress and H.R. College alumna Dhvani Bhanushali returned to her alma mater to promote her upcoming movie, *Kahan Suru Kahan Khatam*. The event, organized by The Students' Council in collaboration with the college administration and Dhvani's team, provided an exciting opportunity for students to interact with the star.

Dhvani shared insights from her journey in the film industry, performed a song, and captivated the audience. Vice Principal Dr. Rani Tyagi honored Dhvani with a bouquet and a token of appreciation for her contributions to entertainment.

Accompanied by her co-star Aashim Gulati, the event was filled with enthusiasm, as students took photos and selfies with the celebrities. Dr. Tyagi remarked, “We are thrilled to have Dhvani back on campus, inspiring the next generation of leaders and artists.” The event highlighted the importance of pursuing passions and striving for excellence.

Ganesh Aagman

August 30, 2024         Attendees: 200+

The Students Council organized a Ganesh Aagman celebration. This auspicious event allowed the students to come together to celebrate and worship and pray to Lord Ganesha even before his arrival on Ganesh Chaturthi, fostering a sense of unity and cultural appreciation within the college and creating a devotional and festive atmosphere.

The council office bearers welcomed the principal, junior college supervisor, and all the teachers from the junior college. The associates of the college also joined the puja.

The event began with a dance invoking the blessings of Lord Ganesh followed by more dances on Lord Ganesha’s devotional songs in contemporary style. Melodious singing performances captivated the audience and filled the air with devotion.

The arti of Lord Ganesha was performed by the teachers. The induction ceremony of the office bearers followed. The principal addressed the gathering, highlighting the significance of such cultural celebrations in a diverse and dynamic educational environment. She encouraged students to actively participate in cultural events to foster a well-rounded personality.

ACTIVITIES 2023-2024

BEYOND LIMITS: PIONEERING CHANGE WITH SPECIALLY-ABLED CHAMPIONS

August 8, 2023         Location: Rama & Sundri Watumull Auditorium

The Students' Council of H.R. College orchestrated their first social endeavour for the year 2023-24 in partnership with the Om Creations Trust. Founded in 1991, Om Creations Trust is an organization dedicated to empowering individuals with unique abilities, particularly women, by nurturing their skills and integrating them into society. The journey started with just four young adults and 15 products, emphasizing quality and design from the beginning. Stipends were provided to beneficiaries, ensuring their financial independence. In the three decades, their concept has evolved into a full-fledged programme with over 100+ success stories.

The Socials Department of The Students’ Council played an instrumental role in facilitating the setup of stalls for Om Creations Trust during the B. Com Orientation Programme. The stalls yielded impressive sales of approximately Rs. 19,000, marking a notable accomplishment.

Additionally, a special address was delivered by Ms. Shefali, in which she extended gratitude to Principal Dr. Pooja Ramchandani and The Students’ Council for their collaborative effort with Om Creations Trust. This partnership afforded a platform to showcase the talents of the Trust’s students. Significant engagement followed as Neha Pradhan and Anisha Mehpani, students representing Om Creations Trust, interacted with the audience. Their confidence and enthusiasm not only impressed the attendees but also motivated them to make a contribution to this great cause. As the initiative concluded, every member of The Students’ Council held deep admiration within their hearts for Om Creations Trust and its students.

SOCIAL INITIATIVES: THE PATH TO PURPOSE AND LEADERSHIP

The Students’ Council of H.R. College has always demonstrated exceptional determination and passion in contributing to community welfare. The Socials Department of The Students’ Council of H.R. College organized a social initiative campaign in collaboration with Kshitij.

Kshitij - a Mumbai-based NGO, established in 1996, is dedicated to empowering intellectually challenged adults through vocational training, providing skills and functional training for creating various products and integration into mainstream society.

The Students’ Council of H.R. College provided assistance to Kshitij in setting up their stalls for the First Year Degree Orientation Program for the Self-Finance Courses. Stalls included customized handicrafts, confectionaries, and a lot more.The stalls were exhibited from 10 A.M. to 3 P.M. amounting to a total sales of Rs. 15,000.

Mrs. Nilima, Mr. Vikram Malkani, and Mr. Niren Shah addressed the students and explained the everyday challenges faced by Kshitij and their unity and perseverance to overcome them. The stall received a positive response from the college’s principal, teachers, and students fostering empathy and understanding.

ARTHANOMICS

August 11-12, 2023         College: Jai Hind College

The Students’ Council of H.R. College participated in Arthanomics: The Annual Business & Economics Festival, organised by Jai Hind College. The theme of the fest was ‘Beyond the Bottom Line’ which provided a unique platform for the participants to tackle contemporary issues with creativity. The fest had 11 events, in which HR contingent made it to the finals of all the events.

Arthanomics provided exposure to the participants and helped in developing their personality. The students got the opportunity to explore a range of interests and unlock their passions. Overall, the fest was an enlightening journey for all the participants.

INTRACOLLEGIATE WIN: TALENT PARADE 2023

On September 9, 2023, The Students' Council participated in Talent Parade, the grandest and the most anticipated Intra-Collegiate Annual Cultural Festival of the H.R. College of Commerce & Economics. This year's Talent Parade was all about combining global entertainment with the virtual world: “Globowood and NetVerse”. The participants demonstrated exceptional skill in seamlessly integrating the theme into their performances through the use of props, costumes, and makeup. The Students’ Council rose to the occasion, emerging as the overall Second Place winner of Talent Parade 2023.

Talent Parade was nothing short of a cultural kaleidoscope, offering events across the categories of Dance, Fashion Show, Singing and Unique Talent. The contingent participated in all four events during the fest and achieved many wins and great success.

The festival was full of life as participants performed with energy, elegance and enthusiasm. The fest led to a great bonding experience, offering students a platform to explore and express their talent.

President Meet & Diwali Lunch

On the 4th of November 2023, the Students' Council organized a, combining the Presidents Meet with a delightful Diwali Lunch. A notable assembly of over 80 presidents and vice presidents lent a distinguished air to the event. The meeting took on a gracious tone as our principal, Dr. Pooja Ramchandani, extended warm Diwali wishes, artfully combining congratulations and encouragement for the leaders present. With a touch of finesse, she acknowledged their current efforts and gently nudged them towards envisioning and executing even more future events. As a token of appreciation, she graciously presented each president with thoughtful Diwali gifts. After the meeting, everyone moved to a Sindhi feast for a delicious lunch. The friendly atmosphere persisted as a low-key dance session took place in the conference room. Presidents and vice-presidents, subtly enthusiastic, joined in, bringing a touch of joy and celebration to the occasion.

The Events were conducted from 9.30 am to 6.30 pm on both days, the event flow of which included a sacred beginning with Ganesh Pooja and Inauguration, conducted with the presence of the Teacher – in – charge, Ms. Shubhada Kanchan, as well as the organising committee. The flow of events in the first half of the first day of the fest included the silver events BizWhiz, a business crossword contest and BizOlympics, the ultimate business quiz, Revive to Survive, a case study competition and Market Mayhem, a mock stock event. The second half of the first day proceeded with Gold Events after lunch, including Horizon Harbour, an entrepreneurial event on expanding Indian brands to foreign shores, and Ad – O – Meter, an advertisement and marketing event. The flow of events on the second day included events like EcoShastra, the economic policy challenge, Impact Innovators, the for profit for charity pitch competition, Money Mime, a game of branding Charades, Business Icon, a branding and designing discourse, Revenue Rally, a sales – and – pitch race, Catch the Trend, a trend analysis event, The CEO Challenge, a personality – based case study, AI Sprint, an AI – equipped startup challenge and Bid Bash, the Discidium cricket auction.

The Students’ Council of H.R. College participated in Blaze 2024 organised by The Investment Club of H.R. College on 19th, 20th, 21st and 22nd of January 2024. The festival offered fresh experiences and exposure to all of the participants through a diverse range of events, including sports, dance, fashion show, and finance and business events. In the 13th edition of this festival, The Students’ Council rose to the occasion, emerging as the overall 1st podium winner of Blaze 2024.

The Students’ Council of H.R. College participated in Ka-Ching X EJCon, a National level economics and management festival organised by NMIMS School of Economics on the 23rd and 24th of January 2024. This fest explored the topic of dynamic and versatile events, and aims to provide a multi-faceted approach to the theme, "Sustainable and Adaptable Governance and Action (The S.A.G.A)." H.R. College of Commerce & Economics secured 2nd podium in Ka-Ching X EJCon with the outstanding efforts and commitment of each participant.

Intra Win: NUMERO UNO REPORT 2024

January 28th, 29th, 30th and 31st , 2024         Venue: H.R. College

The Students’ Council of H.R. College of Commerce and Economics hosted their flagship event, Numero Uno - H.R. College’s Largest Business, Finance and Economics Festival, on the 28th, 29th, 30th and 31st of January 2024. This year marked the 19th edition of “Numero Uno - Pioneering The Realms Of Innovation”. For the past 18 years, Numero Uno, a mathematics and statistics festival, has redefined itself by going further into the intricate realm of business, finance, and economics. The festival had participants from over 12+ colleges as well as 10 intra-college clubs, who gave it their all to win the Numero Uno trophy. With the opening ceremony on 29th January 2024, Numero Uno got off to a great start with encouraging speeches from our Principal Dr. Pooja Ramchandani and our Teacher-in-Charge Ms. Shubhada Kanchan.

ACTIVITIES 2022-2023

A MOVEMENT TO EMPOWER THE DEEMED DISABLE

August 20 & 22, 2022         Location: K.C. Auditorium

The Students’ Council of H.R. College is a place where all the young leaders believe in giving back to society and making a difference in the lives of people in the community.

Keeping this thought in mind, on the occasion of 75 years Azadi ka Amrit Mahoutsav the Students’ Council of H.R. College organized their first social initiative for the year 2022-23 in collaboration with the Om Creations Trust. Om Creations Trust was established in 1991, it was built with a conviction to make specially-abled girls financially independent.

The Socials department of the Students’ Council of H.R. College helped and assisted Om Creations Trust in setting up their stalls for the FY Degree Orientation Program. The stalls were put up outside the K.C Auditorium and in H.R. College from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM with sales around Rs. 27,000.

Dr. Radhike Khanna of Om Creations thanked Dr. Pooja Ramchandani and Students’ Council for collaborating with the Om Creations Trust. Neha Pradhan and Vahishta Major, students from the Om Creations Trust also interacted with the audience.

ASSISI BHAVAN VISIT

October 2, 2022         Location: Assisi Bhavan

On the occasion of International Day for older people the Socials Department of The Students’ Council of H.R. College took an initiative to support the people in Assisi Bhavan by providing them with basic necessities through raising funds. The Students' Council organized a visit to Assisi Bhavan (home for the aged). The main motive to visit the old age home was to spend some time with the elderly and provide them with basic necessities. Fundraising took place from September 29, 2023 to October 1, 2023 in H.R. College on the ground floor. Each and every student and all the faculty members contributed to raise an amount of Rs 60,000.

Members of The Students’ Council visited Assisi Bhavan on October 2, 2022. They made a small effort to bring a smile to their faces by playing some fun games with them. Some elderlies danced their hearts out while the others cheered them up. They planned a special activity where they made a huge heart using everyone’s thumbprints.

This was a special memento to cherish all the beautiful memories made by them in Assisi Bhavan followed by a small cake-cutting session. This day was enjoyed thoroughly by both the elderly and The Student’s Council. All the members of The Students’ Council left Assisi Bhavan with a feeling of contentment and a bunch of beautiful memories.

BLOOD DONATION DRIVE

December 9, 2022         Location: H.R. College of Commerce & Economics

The Students’ Council of H.R. College of Commerce & Economics organized a Blood Donation Drive in collaboration with HDFC Bank and with the support of N.S.S.

Principal Dr. Pooja Ramchandani and Vice Principal Dr. Navin Punjabi launched the blood donation drive. Out of the 120+ donors who showed up to donate, 86 donations were successful. The sponsors and HDFC Bank gave presents to the successful donors. Additionally, two certificates from HDFC Bank and the Blood Bank were provided to the donors, along with a donor card.

The Students’ Council also hosted a gathering at Marine Drive to encourage people to donate blood. Members of The Students’ Council participated in the blood donation drive and made sure that donors had registered.

Once the donor was given the go-ahead by the doctors, members of The Students’ Council were present to ensure that they had a filling breakfast and were in good enough condition to donate blood. If they hadn’t eaten anything, the donors were given food before being taken to the blood donation facility. The members of the student council made sure that the blood donors rested for 15 minutes before departing after giving their blood.

INTRACOLLEGIATE WIN & PARTICIPATION

TALENT PARADE 2022

September 24, 2022         Location: Birla Matushri Hall

The Students’ Council participated in the Talent Parade, the Largest Intra-Collegiate Annual Cultural Festival of H.R. College of Commerce & Economics. The theme of the Talent Parade this year was War of The Worlds and the participants incorporated this beautifully in all their performances with the use of props, makeup, and costumes which helped to show the theme visibly in their performances which led to The Students' Council to secure Second Podium in this fest.

It was a lively fest, our energetic participants performed with grace and passion. This fest led to a great bonding experience among the participants. The event concluded with celebrations and triumphs. The win now encourages and inspires the team to strive to do better for the next year!

CALLISTO 2022

November 26-28, 2022         Location: K.C. Auditorium

The Students’ Council of H.R. College participated in Callisto, a festival organized by The General Event Management Society of H.R. College. This intercollegiate activity featured a range of pleasant pursuits that exposed students to fresh perspectives and helped them develop as leaders and enhanced their management skills. The entire team enjoyed and learned from the event. Each participant received praise for their diligence and efforts.

ZIPCODE 2022

December 7-9, 2022         Location: K.C. Auditorium

The Students’ Council and The Sports Council of H.R. College jointly participated in Zipcode organized by The International Programmes Committee of H.R. College. The Students’ Council & The Sports Council together secured the First Position in the entire event.

A variety of events on business, dance, fashion, and cooking, took place during the vibrant and adventurous fest that The International Programmes Committee arranged. Participants explored different options and challenged themselves by participating in many new events.

BLAZE 2023

January 25,27-28, 2023         Location: K.C. Auditorium

The Students’ Council participated in Blaze 2023 organized by The Investment Club of H.R. College. The Investment Club of H.R. College organized an eventful and engaging fest. The participants had the chance to put their skills to use and push themselves beyond their comfort zones. Our team efforts and the use of several hand-made props helped us achieve the First Podium.

ANNUAL SPORTS MEET REPORT 2023

January 31, 2023 - February 1, 2023         Location: Mumbai University Ground

The Students' Council of H.R. College participated in The Annual Sports Meet organized by The Sports Council of H.R. College on January 31, 2023 and February 1, 2023. All of our sports enthusiasts had a great opportunity to compete in various sporting activities and display their leadership and sportsmanship skills during the Annual Sports Meet.

This event improved the participants’ physical and mental well-being. The occasion exposed the students and provided them with the opportunity to learn new things. The entire team enjoyed and learned from the event. All of the participants received praise for their efforts and teamwork.

ELYSIUM 2023

February 8-11, 2023         Location: H.R. College

The Students’ Council participated in Elysium 2023 organized by the SYNC Club of H.R. College. The Students’ Council secured the First Podium in this fest. The SYNC Club of H.R. College put together a lively and exciting festival where the participants ventured outside of their comfort zones and competed in challenges that required talent and creativity to succeed.

They had a fantastic opportunity to participate in various events focused on health and fun workshops as well as thrilling fitness-related events like Flex-o-Poly, Hurdle Hunt, and Mystery Moves.

The participants had a great time participating in this exciting festival, and with the help and support of the core and The Students' Council members. Victory was celebrated, and the participants were thanked for their efforts and hard work.

The Numero Uno Committee of H.R. College of Commerce & Economics hosted their flagship event, Numero Uno - Mumbai’s Largest Mathematics and Statistics Festival. This year marked the 18th edition of “Numero Uno - Surpassing New Frontiers”. The festival had participants from over 15+ schools and colleges and intra-college clubs. Numero Uno 2022-23 had 29 Sponsors. Their significant contribution and confidence in the committee made the fest a huge success.

The Students’ Council of H.R. College of Commerce & Economics participated in Moneta, India’s largest financial festival organized by R.A. Podar College. H.R. College of Commerce & Economics secured the Second Podium in this festival and was also awarded with the Best PR Award.

KA-CHING 2023

January 23-24, 2023         College: NMIMS School of Economics

The Students’ Council of H.R. College of Commerce & Economics participated in EJCon X Ka-Ching, an inter-collegiate festival organized by NMIMS School of Economics. H.R. College of Commerce & Economics secured the First Podium in this festival. This year marked the 7th consecutive win of H.R. College at Ka-Ching.

The Students’ Council represented H.R. College of Commerce & Economics at Insight, an inter-collegiate Business and Economics Festival organized by Narsee Monjee College. The Students’ Council of H.R. College won the Overall Contingent and secured the Second Podium in Insight along with securing The PR Trophy and podiums in several events.

ACTIVITIES 2021-2022

ADMISSIONS 2021-22

H.R. College is one of the very few colleges where the students carry out the Admissions process. The junior and Degree College Admissions 2021 were conducted by The Students' Council and The Sports Council. The entire process was carried out with utmost professionalism under the guidance of the admission convenor Dr. Rani Tyagi.

A Help Desk set up at the entrance of the college dealt with doubts and queries of the students and parents. This helped to optimize the entire process and prevent chaos on the college premises.

The student volunteers smoothly managed all the activities, including the responses of emails to and making calls regarding the admissions. The College staff was very cooperative and supported the students throughout the process. All the efforts put in by the students and the staff were commendable and led to the successful completion of the admissions process.

T.Y. & M.COM. FAREWELL 2022

April 3, 2022

The Students' Council organised the T.Y. and M.Com Farewell on April 3, 2022. Like every year, the farewell was organised by first-year students under the guidance of the second-year students. The theme for this year was “The Last Fiesta.”

This year, the farewell was held in Rama & Sundri Watumull Auditorium followed by a farewell party at H.R. College. Principal Dr. Pooja Ramchandani welcomed all the students to this farewell. The program started with a beautiful vocal performance by Ms. Shriya Rao; powerful dance performances by H.R. Students. Soulful singing by Mr. Gaurav Thadani (student of H.R. College), a hilarious and powerful standup by Mr. Manoj Bhandari and Mr. Karthik Shukla. An amazing group singing performance by H.R. students and a mesmerising poetry reading by Ms. Vani Gera (Senior Joint Secretary of The Students’ Council) followed these.

The First and Second-year students of The Students' Council decorated the College. A DJ was set up on the terrace accompanied by food stalls at various places, a Photo Booth was installed in the Conference Room, and there were games to be played representing The Last Fiesta Theme. As a memento, all the T.Y. and M.Com. Students received a beautiful customised keychain.

Principal Dr. Pooja Ramchandani cut a cake on the terrace along with the farewell committee members. She bid goodbye to all the college Brand Ambassadors, wishing them success for a bright future and new beginnings. Everyone left knowing that 'Once a HRite, Always a HRite'.

NUMERO UNO 2021-22

January 21, 22 & 23 2022

The Students' Council held its 17th edition of “Numero Uno - Surpassing New Frontiers” - Mumbai's Largest Mathematics and Statistics intercollegiate Festival. The event was held online for the second consecutive year. The 3-day festival witnessed 400+ participants from over 7 schools & colleges as well as 10 intra-college clubs.

ACTIVITIES 2020-2021

Online Admissions

The Students' Council handled the Online Admissions of Junior College, Degree College, and M.Com. along with The Sports Council for the year 2020-21. All the queries regarding admissions were cleared through e-mails and calls.

Orientations

The Students' Council also organised the Orientation for the first-year students of Junior & Degree College on July 30, 2020 & October 12, 2020 respectively. The trustees of the HSNC Board and Provost of HSNC University along with the I/C Principal and Vice Principals gave encouraging and motivating guidance to the students.

Numero Uno
October 26, 27 & 28, 2020

The Students' Council organised its flagship event Numero Uno, online Pan-India Mathematics and Statistics Festival, where there were 2000+ participants from over 11 schools & colleges and 14 intra-college clubs, from all over India.

Soirée of Lights
November 19, 2020

The Diwali Celebrations, SOIRÉE OF LIGHTS was organised on for the students as well as teachers. Few games like H.R. Trivia and a Scavenger Hunt were organised which were very engaging, filled with tons of laughter and everyone enjoyed them a lot.

Anti-ragging Campaign
December 1 & 2, 2020

The Anti-ragging Campaign was held wherein the necessary information and preventive measures were spoken out in a video, which was shown in the zoom lectures. There were posts on social media as well.

H.R. VOICE
March 10, 2021

The Students' Council initiated H.R. VOICE to make the students' voices be heard. It addresses students' concerns and finds the best solutions from small college-related complaints to suggestions and improvements. It's a committee made by the students and for the students, Always!

T.Y. & M.Com Farewell
May 25, 2021

The Council also organised the T.Y. & M.Com. Farewell online with a theme - “REMINISCENCE - Journey of a few years, memories for a lifetime”. The first-ever Yearbook of H.R. College of Commerce and Economics titled “Reminiscence 2021” was inaugurated by the I/C Principal Dr. Pooja Ramchandani.

SOCIAL INITIATIVES 2020-2021

FUNDRAISER CAMPAIGN
November 13, 2020

The Students' Council collaborated with Yusuf Meherally Centre (YMC), a 58 years old organisation, for supporting the work done in the field of education by them in a small village called Tara, in Raigad, Maharashtra, on milaap.org. The aim is to help the girls to get advanced education and have a better standard of living. The funds raised help in the development of the Tribal Girls Hostel and in bettering the education of these Adivasi girls.

ADAPT
March 5, 2021

The Students’ Council collaborated with ADAPT where the volunteers had to assist the teachers and help them teach the children of ADAPT (Abled Disabled All People Together), a school for specially-abled children located at Colaba. This is a certificate programme, wherein, the volunteers had to complete 10 hours.

EVENTS PARTICIPATED/WON 2020-2021

Arthanomics, India’s first online Business and Economics inter-collegiate festival organised by Jai Hind College was held on the 14th, 15th & 16th of August, 2020. The contingent was effective in continuing the winning streak by securing the First position overall.

AFCP & Finacc, an Accounts and Finance inter-collegiate fest organised by R.A. Podar College of Commerce & Economics was held on 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 24th & 25th September 2020.

Ka-ching, an Economics and Management inter-collegiate fest organised by SAMSOE NMIMS was held on 29th, 30th & 31st January 2021. The contingent successfully secured the first position overall.

Moneta, India’s largest Financial Markets based inter-collegiate event organised by R.A. Podar College on 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th February 2021

Insight, a Business, Finance and Economic inter-collegiate meet organised by NM College on 18th, 19th & 20th March 2021. The contingent placed third position overall.

Blaze, organised by the Investment Club of H.R. College on 25th, 26th & 27th March 2021.

Sports Fiesta, virtual sports festival by The Sports Council on 16th, 17th & 18th April 2021.

Talent Parade, largest intra- collegiate Annual Cultural fest on 7th May 2021.
