H.R. College was awarded the Best College by the University of Mumbai for 2010-2011. The institution was recognized for its leadership potential, its teaching excellence, its innovative learner-centric approach and its strong international linkages.

2016: HIGHER EDUCATION FORUM'S (HEF) "INNOVATION AWARD":

The H.R. College team received the award under the Graduate College category on 5th March, 2016 at the Higher Education Forum (HEF) 7th Annual Convention held at Durgadevi Saraf Institute of Management Studies, Malad.

2016:"College with Potential for Excellence" (CPE):

To identify colleges which have attained high standards in teaching, research and extension activities and hold promise of excellence, University Grants Commission (UGC) introduced a Scheme, corresponding to the one for the Universities, during the X Plan called "College with Potential for Excellence" (CPE).

H.R. College of Commerce & Economics was selected by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under the College with Potential for Excellence (CPE) scheme,under which substantial funds will be provided to them to improve and strengthen its infrastructure to achieve higher academic standards.

2002: H.R. College was the first college in Maharashtra to be accredited 'A' grade with a score of 87.95% by the NAAC (National Assessment & Accreditation Council) in 2002.

2008: In 2008, HR College was awarded an 'A' Grade by NAAC once again; with a CGPA of 3.46.

2013: In Jan 2013 the college underwent a third accreditation process with NAAC awarding an 'A' Grade to H.R. College of Commerce & Economics with a CGPA of 3.72 on a 4 point scale, the highest CGPA in India under the revised scheme; and the highest score in Maharashtra till March 23, 2013!

2018: The validity of NAAC accreditation has been extended from March 22, 2018 to March 22, 2020 in respect to high performing institution.

September 14, 2022 - Enactus HRC Wins "The National Award for Best Social Initiative for Women Empowerment"

Enactus of H.R. College of Commerce & Economics participated in ‘Bhavishya Bharat’ A National Level Competition for Social Initiatives organized by Nagindas Khandwala College.
Enactus HRC presented its flagship Projects ‘Inaayat’ and ‘Aajeevika’ and won the National award for Best Social Initiative for Women Empowerment.
Dr. Pooja Ramchandani, Principal of H.R. College of Commerce & Economics said “I am so proud of my students to have won the National Award.”
