Global Ventures: Exploring the Landscape of International Trade

The BCom Committee of H.R. College organized a seminar featuring Amit Kamboj, Director of Niryat Business and Business Head at Advaeta Global. Kamboj highlighted India's key infrastructure projects such as the Sagar Mala Project and the Bharat Mala Project, and discussed initiatives like the One District, One Product program. The seminar provided insights into India's expanding role in global trade and showcased the country's strategic approach to enhancing its global trade visibility.

IELTS WEBINAR

The B.Com. Committee in collaboration with the International Programmes Committee of H.R. College organised an IELTS Webinar with Mr. Nazir Syed who is a certified IELTS mentor and trainer with more than 20 years of experience in the field.The webinar was organized for students aspiring to take IELTS exam. The guest speaker provided comprehensive information about the IELTS exam and mentioned about paper pattern of the exam and various modules of IELTS. The speaker also addressed various queries of students. The interactive webinar ended with a formal vote of thanks.
RAKHI WITH HEROES

The B.Com. Committee of H.R. College organized "Rakhi with Heroes" and event with the security guards of H.R. College of Commerce and Economics and the police officers of Churchgate Police Station.
The event was organized as a token of respect and appreciation for their dedication to maintain the safety of students and society at large. The committee members tied Rakhi’s to the principal, vice principal and the college security guards. The Committee members also greeted the police officers with bouquets and tied Rakhi to all the police officers present at the police station. The police officers were happy and praised the committee members for their unique event. The Head police Inspector Mr. Thorat delivered a brief instruction about women safety on the occasion. The session came to an end with a formal vote of thanks.
JANMASHTAMI CELEBRATION AT ISKCON

The B.Com Committee of H.R. College organized a “Janmashtami celebration at International Society for Krishna Consciousness - ISKCON Sri Sri Radha Gopinath mandir” located at Girgaon Chowpatty. The event was aimed to allow students to celebrate the special day of Janmashtami at the famous ISKCON temple and to raise awareness about the importance of spirituality.
During the event, students enjoyed a beautiful and energetic Krishna Arti, where they sang and danced to Krishna bhajans. The committee members also offered garlands and sweets to the idol of Lord Krishna. Later, the students gathered in the ISKCON lecture hall, where Shri Satya Anand Das spoke about the rich history of ISKCON and the significance of Shri Mad Bhagwat Geeta. Students also visited the gorgeous Vrindavan garden inside the ISKCON temple, where Shri Vijay Das shared insights into the garden's significance and passionately encouraged students to make ISKCON a regular part of their lives. He lauded the committee's commendable initiative in organizing this noteworthy event. The event concluded with a group photo, and a formal vote of thanks.
ARTI THALI MAKING COMPETITION

The B.Com Committee of H.R. College organised an online “Arti Thali-making competition” for students of H.R. College of Commerce & Economics to celebrate the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami. This event was designed to encourage students to infuse spirituality into their artistic creations.
All Participants were required to submit their Arti Thalis by 4 p.m. Following a keen review by the panel, winners were declared, earning themselves the coveted first and second prizes. All the participants were honoured with well-deserved E-certificates, celebrating their sincere participation.
GANESH CHATURTHI CELEBRATION
Day1: September 19, 2023 Attendees: 50
The B.Com Committee of H.R. College organized “Ganesh Chaturthi celebration” for 1.5 days at H.R. College of Commerce & Economics. The primary objective of the event was to mark a historic moment in the annals of HR College by welcoming Lord Ganesha for the very first time. Ganesha was warmly welcomed within the college premises to the resonating beats of Puneri dhol, which had everyone, including the principal, grooving and dancing for a full hour.
Subsequently, the pandit initiated the Ganesh sthapna ceremony, with the principal performing the sthapna of Ganesha. Following this, all attendees joined in the Ganesh aarti, and the BCom Committee President distributed prasad to everyone present. To replenish their energy, all participants enjoyed lunch graciously provided by the B.Com Committee. As the day drew to a close, the committee members conducted a final aarti, concluding day 1 of the event on a harmonious note.
Day 2: September 20,2023 Attendees: 45
The second day of “Grand Ganesh Chaturthi celebration” organized by the B.Com Committee commenced on a spiritual note, as an aarti was conducted at 10.30 am, involving not only the teaching staff but also the dedicated peons and students.
The B.Com Committee President, accompanied by two committee members, visited the NGO located in Bal Bhavan Chowpatty. Their aim was to bring joy and smiles to the faces of underprivileged children. A total of 12 children and one staff member from the NGO were warmly welcomed into our college with flowers. As an act of kindness and hospitality, the BCom Committee members served a delectable lunch to all 12 children, ensuring that they felt cherished and cared for. Following this, a lively session of dance and games ensued, allowing the children to have a day filled with laughter and fun. In a spirit of giving, the President and Vice Presidents of The BCom Committee distributed thoughtful gifts, including stationery items, to all 12 children, bringing joy and excitement to their day.
The event was graced by the presence of the college trustees, who sought blessings from Lord Ganesha, emphasizing the importance of tradition and culture. Notably, some alumni of the college paid a visit to Lord Ganesha, cherishing the bonds that were formed during their time at the institution. Following the eventful day, all the attendees gathered to share a delicious lunch continuing the spirit of togetherness.
The day concluded with a final aarti at 4:00 PM, after which everyone danced to the beats of the dhol, enjoying in the joyous occasion. At 4:30 PM, the idol was taken for visarjan at Girgaon Chowpatty. Upon returning to the college after the visarjan, the committee members gathered at 6.00 PM once again for the final aarti. Everyone prayed and earnestly requested Lord Ganesha to return to bless the college in the coming year. The B.Com Committee President extended a sincere vote of thanks to all the committee members for their unwavering dedication and active participation, marking the conclusion of the grand Ganesh Chaturthi event.

The BCom Committee of HR College of Commerce and Economics showcased their talent at 'The Rainbow Lane Fest,' an inter-collegiate event organized by Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics at Churchgate. The competition took place on the campus of Sydenham College, where The BCom Committee participated in their two major flagship events, namely Jallosh and Blitz Creed. The BCom Committee and Department of Mathematics of H.R. College organized a Masters in Actuarial Science Webinar by IAQS (Institute of Actuarial and Quantitative Studies) with Mr. Aman who is an actuary, a consultant, an academic, and an advocate of entrepreneurship and sustainability.The webinar was organized for students aspiring to do a master's in Actuarial science and also who wanted to explore actuarial science as a career. The guest speaker provided comprehensive information about the actuarial science exam and mentioned the paper pattern of the exam and various modules of the actuarial science exam. The guest speaker explained the whole course curriculum of actuarial science. The speaker also addressed various queries of students. The session came to an end after The BCOM Committee vice president Akansha Kirad gave the vote of thanks and expressed her gratitude to the guest speaker for imparting his precious knowledge and to the participants for an interactive webinar.

HOW TO BECOME A BILLIONAIRE?

The B.Com Committee conducted a webinar with guest speaker Mr. Harsh Vira, a highly experienced trader and mentor. Mr. Vira briefed the students about practices that would aid students in achieving success with the aim to become a billionaire in the session titled: “How to Become a Billionaire?”
Mr. Vira, authorized personnel at Angel Broking and a skilled trader and mentor, counselled the audience to achieve success at their business and investments using sharp thinking and innovative ideas. He stressed on the need for dedication and correct actions for one to achieve the massive feat of a billion. He outlined research and domain knowledge as priceless skills that will never fail one in the world of commerce. The session was an eye opener for many and an opportunity for others to take the leap, start a business or investment and take baby steps towards becoming a billionaire.

The Department of Economics and B.Com Committee of H.R. College in collaboration with Meghnad Desai Academy of Economics organized Careers in Finance & Data Analytics. With the experts in the industry of Data Analytics and Finance, Prof. Amlesh Kanekar and Prof. Prachi Ganu.
The session started with introduction to the world of finance and information on careers in finance with high growth prospect such as Corporate Banking, Public Accounting, etc. This was followed by a discussion on skills required to excel in finance and data analytics and application of data science in everyday life. The B.Com Committee of H.R College of Commerce & Economics held an online seminar on the course of Chartered Financial Analyst with Prof. Mihir Dedhiya, who is a qualified CA and have cleared all three levels of CFA. The speaker briefly discussed the scope of CFA in India, various job opportunities, current industry salaries and touched upon exam subjects, paper pattern and fee structure. Session concluded with a Q&A and a formal vote of thanks.
