The M.Com Committee of H.R. College partnered with 'Connect For' for a two-hour audiobook recording session to support visually impaired individuals. We recorded stories selected by the NGO, providing a window into literature through our voices. The event was well-organized, showcasing our commitment to making a meaningful impact. By volunteering, we experienced the power of collective action in making literature accessible.

July 13, 2024

The M.Com Committee of H.R. College hosted the first Masterclass League, led by Hasan Lalljee, a Management Consulting expert with over 8 years in Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A). He started with an overview of Investment Banking, highlighting key companies and players, and then delved into the M&A process. Hasan covered the entire deal flow, from strategy development to deal closure, using a real-life case study to illustrate the complexities involved. He shared essential tips for entering the M&A field, emphasizing a strong financial foundation, relevant experience, and networking.

FYMCom ORIENTATION SESSION

The orientation for the First Year Master of Commerce (FYMCom) batch offered essential information about academic and career paths. Professors Jasbir and Dharti guided students through the MCom program’s subjects, curriculum structure, and assessment patterns, emphasizing the importance of choosing electives aligned with career goals.

Students learned about the compulsory internship requirement, which enhances practical experience and resumes, along with tips for securing internships. The session also covered Self-Learning Evaluations (SLEs), aimed at improving presentation skills and fostering independent learning.

H.R. College's MCom Committee hosted the "Kickstart Your Career in Digital Marketing" masterclass with Mr. Hitesh Chhatralia, founder of Helpopedia EduTech LLP. He aimed to empower 100,000 digital leaders, offering insights into SEO, social media, email marketing, and mobile apps. Through case studies and live examples, he illustrated effective strategies, emphasizing the importance of analytics and online reputation management. Post-Ganpati Visarjan Beach Cleanup at Dadar

September 14, 2024

The MCom Committee and The Nature’s Club organized a beach cleanup at Prabhadevi Beach, with 35 volunteers participating. After a briefing on safety and hygiene, volunteers donned gloves and masks to collect remnants of Ganesh idols and litter. Their teamwork transformed the beach from littered to pristine, showcasing the impact of collective effort. The event concluded with a group photo, highlighting the sense of community and responsibility fostered among participants while contributing to environmental conservation.

HR College's MCom Committee held an insightful masterclass with Mr. Hasan Lalljee, Founder of HAZL Investments and Former Senior Consultant at Deloitte, as part of the Masterclass League Season 4, Episode 4. Mr. Jethwani emphasized best practices for online security, equipping attendees with essential tips to protect their personal and professional digital assets from cyber-attacks. It delved into practical strategies to enhance cybersecurity measures, fostering a safer digital environment for all. The webinar received an overwhelming response, making it a resounding success. Ms. Sonakshi Gupta explained all the phases of investment, origins of funding, exit approaches and emphasized on the importance of global ecosystem for the diversification of the portfolios. The webinar emphasized on how venture capital funding fuels innovation by supporting groundbreaking technologies, products, and services and plays a crucial role in supporting innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic growth. The M. Com Committee of H.R. College invited Mr. Sanjiv Bhasin as the speaker for the Master-class League. Mr. Sanjiv Bhasin is currently placed as the director of the Gurugram branch of IIFL Securities Ltd, and is an Equity Consultant at CNBC Awaaz & consultant at Zee news.

The participants benefitted from his expert-curated content. He shed light on the significance of investing and avoiding impulsive expenses, and discussed the various types of investment: Stocks, Mutual Funds, Fixed Deposits, Real Estate, Government Schemes, Gold etc. He showcased “The Beginner’s Guide to Investing” by explaining how important it was to focus on our goals and risk appetite. Further, on, he walked the audience through the sectors, which have a probability to outperform others such as IT, pharma, PSUs, FMCG. The webinar created a huge impact and added great value to the budding professionals of H.R. College.

Mr. Vatsal highlighted “The Impact of Networking”, shared extremely beneficial “Networking Strategies”, and unboxed the lesser known “Networking Secrets”. He further shared an interesting anecdote of his professional journey, wherein how “600 cold emails, 1500 LinkedIn connection requests, 80 cold calls, helped him bag a job at The World Bank.” The anecdote helped the audience understand the power of being patient and importance of perseverance while networking. Mr. Vatsal ended the session on an insightful note by adding “The Red Flags & Green Flags” to be mindful about while networking.

Mr. Ahuja talked about “Framework of Solving Case Studies” by providing students with an example of a profit related framework followed by live case solving.

The webinar helped the students understand how to look at a problem from the interviewer or the other person’s perspective, giving importance to methodical questioning and common sense to arrive at the problem area. College of Commerce & Economics in collaboration with the prestigious NYU Stern organized an Industrial Visit to National Stock Exchange, India. This industrial visit was graced by the presence of world-class speakers who imparted invaluable knowledge to the attendees.

In conclusion, the industrial visit to the National Stock Exchange was a truly enlightening experience, providing attendees with a unique opportunity to learn from some of the most renowned names in the financial industry.

The M.Com Committee of H.R. College of Commerce & Economics participated in a number of events at the inter collegiate festival “Aura” which was hosted by G.D. Jalan College. Ms. Surbhi Choradia secured Second Runner-up Position for avatar make-up, she excelled at tattoo making and bagged the First Position and a cash prize for the same. While Mr. Yash Punjabi secured Second Runner-up Position at the Rapping event conducted.
