B.COM ORIENTATION

The First Year Degree Orientation Programme for the B. Com Course was attended by Principal Dr. Pooja Ramchandani, Vice Principals Dr. Jasbir Kaur Sodi, Dr. Rani Tyagi, and Dr. Navin Punjabi, faculty members and students. The programme started by a Ganesh Vandana performance followed by screening of the H.R. Video which showed the various programmes, events and social initiatives that took place in the year 2022-23.

Principal Dr. Pooja Ramchandani delivered the welcome address. She was grateful and proud of the various achievements of the college and the energy of the newly admitted students as she called them the leaders of tomorrow. President of The HSNC Board and Chief Guest for the event Mr. Anil Harish, delivered his address in which he motivated the students to be ready to face difficulties in pursuit of their goals without compromising on their health, passion and self- worth.

The annual college magazine Voyager 2022-23 was released by the dignitaries followed by the induction and investiture ceremony of The Students’ Council. Student Council General Secretary introduced the Core Committee members of The Students’ Council 2023-24. The members of the core committee were presented with their badges of honour. All degree college faculty of the Bachelor of Commerce course were introduced to the students by Vice Principal Dr. Navin Punjabi.

Assistant Professor Mr. Faiz Patel discussed about the recently formed Parents Connect Club. He emphasized working with the parents through the platforms of placements, guest lectures, among others. This was followed by a presentation by The International Programmes Committee about the international exposure that student would have in the college. They were given information on the community initiatives carried out by Enactus HRC. The Rotaract Club of H.R. College provided a brief description about the various social activities conducted by the club. As a part of the social initiatives undertaken by the college, The Students’ Council had teamed up with Om Creations which empowers the differently abled. Om Creations showcased their artistic creations through a small video and put up an exquisite stall in the auditorium foyer.

Principal Dr. Pooja Ramchandani praised the efforts of The Students’ Council in organising the event. Faculty-in-charge of The Students’ Council Ms. Shubadha Kanchan proposed the vote of thanks. The programme concluded with the National Anthem.

SELF FINANCE COURSES ORIENTATION

August 10, 2023         Attendees: 550+ students and parents

Location: Rama and Sundri Watumull Auditorium

The Orientation programme for the First Year Self Finance Courses was organized by The Students’ Council of H.R. College. The programme commenced with a Ganesh Vandana dance performance followed by the screening of the H.R. Video which provided a comprehensive overview of all extracurricular activities and social initiatives undertaken by H.R. College throughout the academic year 2022–2023.

Principal Dr. Pooja Ramchandani in her welcome address encouraged the students to have an immersive experience and take active part in various curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular events and activities organized throughout the academic year. A special address was given by the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Dr. Sadanand Date, the chief guest, who highlighted the importance of social media among the youth and guided the students to use them in an effective and efficient way.

The programme continued as the dignitaries released the college magazine- The Voyager, which is a compilation of all events and festivals that took place during the academic year 2022-23. It was followed by the induction of The Students’ Council and announcement of the Core Committee for the academic year 2023-24.

Faculty members of all the self-finance courses were introduced to the students. Various programmes, initiatives such as international programmes, social work, NGO collaborations, health and fitness, industrial visits, parents and alumni networks were showcased and introduced to the students. The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks and the National Anthem.

Our chief guest Mr. Anil Harish, the President of the HSNC Board, gave a special address. Our guest of honor, the President of the Jain Chartered Accountants Federation, Mr. Pradip Kapadia in his address highlighted the importance of Chartered Accountants and the dedication and hard work required to complete the course of chartered accountancy.

10 students from HR College topped All India Ranks out of 50. The chief guest and guest of honor felicitated all the CA Rankers. College Magazine Voyager was released and presented to the chief guest.

August 22, 2022

The chief guest Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani and guest of honor CA Murtuza Onali Kachwala gave special addresses.

Class 12th Toppers Rishab Shah, Sanya Jhaveri, Harshi Jain, and Kashni Siriya were felicitated followed by the felicitation of the staff who have completed 25 years of service. Librarian Dr. Madhuri Tikam, and junior college faculty Ms. Mansi Bharne and Ms. Anita Gandhi were presented with a silver plaque by the Chief Guest.

The programme continued with the induction of The Students’ Council Core Committee. General Secretary, Khushi Kanodia introduced the Core Committee of the Students' Council 2022-23.College Magazine Voyager was released and also presented to the chief guest.

Presentations regarding the Examination System, student exchange and international initiatives, social initiatives followed. Teacher-in-charge of Students’ Council, Prof. Shubhada Kanchan presented the vote of thanks. The program concluded with the National Anthem.

FY DEGREE ORIENTATION PROGRAMME

October 6, 2021

The Students' Council of H.R. College hosted the Orientation Programme for the First-Year Degree College students via YouTube Live Stream. General Secretary, Varun Sriram was the host for the event. The programme started with Ganesh Vandana followed by a welcome address by the I/C Principal Dr. Pooja Ramchandani, urging the students to reap the benefits of H.R. College's new platform for holistic growth.

The Chief Guest Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani, Provost of HSNC University, spoke on how H.R. College provides unrivaled chances, making it one of the greatest colleges in the country. He also stressed that students could now enroll in multidisciplinary courses such as drama, dance, and yoga. He urged students to prioritize hands-on learning and partake of a high-quality education to be career-ready.

The Orientation continued with the felicitation of Mr. India International Darasing Khurana, an alumnus of H.R. College. He shared his experience in college and inspired the audience with his encouraging words. The HR video gave an overview of all of the extracurricular events and activities that took place in H.R. College during the Academic Year 2020 - 2021.

The Vice-Principal of the Junior College Ms Laju Sharma announced the results of the HSC Board Examinations. The 12th Standard rank holders shared their scholastic experience with everyone.

The programme continued with the induction of The Students’ Council and The Sports Council. Both councils were recognized for the important role they play in college.

Dr. Rani Tyagi, Chair of the Examination Committee, did a presentation enabling students to have a better understanding of the exam system at HSNC University and discussed the Honours Programme. Dr. Chandani Bhattacharjee, the Director of The International Programmes Committee was requested to provide information about the exposure H.R. College presents on a global level.

A video clip was shown to inform everyone of all the Student Bodies and Clubs of H.R. College. A directory, designed and compiled by The Students’ Council, containing detailed information of all the student bodies & clubs of H.R. College was later sent to all the respective First Year students.

The programme concluded with the teacher-in-charge of The Students’ Council, Ms. Shubhada Kanchan proposing a vote of thanks.

ORIENTATION FOR FIRST YEAR DEGREE PROGRAM

July 30, 2020

The Orientation Program for the First Year Degree was organised on YouTube Live Stream by The Students’ Council of H.R. College. The programme began with a classical dance performance by SY BMS student, Ishika Goplani, welcoming everyone. It was followed by a welcome address by in-charge Principal, Dr. Pooja Ramchandani. She encouraged students to seek the new platform provided by H.R. College for holistic development. The H.R. Video was played to give a glimpse of all the extracurricular activities carried out in the academic year 2019-20.

A special address was given by the President of HSNC Board, Mr. Kishu Mansukhani, who congratulated the students who cleared the HSC Board exams. He asked them to explore the choices provided at H.R. College and make an informed decision.

The Provost of HSNC University, Dr. Niranjan Hiranandan talked about the unprecedented opportunities that are given at H.R. College, making it one of the best colleges. He also emphasised that the students now had the option to choose interdisciplinary courses like drama, dance and yoga.

The Trustee of HSNC Board, Mrs. Maya Shahani also interacted with the students, highlighting creativity and innovation that would be introduced with the new interdisciplinary courses. She encouraged them to focus on experiential learning and quality education that will make them job ready.

The Vice Principal of Junior College, Ms. Laju Sharma, then announced the result of HSC board examinations and the 12th toppers, congratulating them on their success. It was followed by the toppers sharing their own experiences and journeys with everyone.

Thereafter, the program continued with a presentation informing the students about the versatility and academic proficiency of the college, by the Vice Principal of Degree College, Dr. Navin Punjabi. He explained the formation of HSNC University and programmes offered by H.R. College. Dr. Chandani Bhattacharjee spoke about the varied programmes conducted with international collaboration to allow students to broaden their understanding and make them global citizens. Subsequently, Dr. Navin Punjabi took over and answered the questions asked in the live session.

FYJC Orientation

August 12, 2023         Attendees: 500+

The Sports Council of the H.R. College of Commerce and Economics organized the FYJC Orientation. More than 500 students attended the orientation. The orientation began with the welcome dance, Ganesh Vandana followed by a screening of the HR Video. Dr. Pooja Ramchandani, principal of H.R. College, greeted the audience and introduced Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani, Provost, HSNC University, as the Chief Guest for the occasion and Mr. Mihir Vora as the Guest of Honour. The Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour addressed the students and encouraged the freshers with their words of wisdom. College annual magazine Voyager was unveiled by the dignitaries. Three Junior College teachers, completed 25 years in H.R. College and were felicitated for their service followed by the felicitation of the HSC and FYJC toppers.

The orientation saw the induction and investiture ceremony of the Sports Council of H.R. College followed by the felicitation of the admissions faculty. All junior college faculty were introduced to the students. After presentations on academics and examination, students were informed about various international initiatives by IPC, social initiatives by Enactus, RCHR and BMS Committee. The event concluded with a vote of thanks followed by the National Anthem.

The Sports Council of H.R. College of Commerce & Economics organized 'First Year Junior College Orientation' at K.C. College Auditorium. The Program commenced with a welcome dance followed by a speech from our esteemed Principal, Dr. Pooja Ramchandani.

Mr. Yashasvi Yadav, Special Inspector of Cyber & Paw was invited as the Guest of Honour. Mr. Kishu Mansukhani graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The HSC rankers and the admissions committee were felicitated followed by The Sports Council Induction.

Ms. Laju Sharma, Junior College Vice Principal and Ms. Rekha Verma, Examination Head, displayed the main objective of the orientation - The Academic and the Examination PPT.

The program successfully ended with a vote of thanks by Principal, Dr. Pooja Ramchandani and National Anthem.

FYJC Orientation

September 25, 2021

The FYJC students were introduced to the functioning of the college during the orientation programme conducted on Zoom. Divided into two sessions, the first session was exclusively for Sindhi students while the second session was for all the FY students. For the first session, Dr. Pratap Pinjani, Director of NCPSL, HRD Ministry was the Chief Guest; Mr. Kishu Mansukhani, Trustee and President HSNC Board was the Guest of Honour; and Mr. Ram Jawhrani, Chairman, Sahyog Foundation was a special guest.

For the second session, Mrs. Maya Shahani, Chairperson of the Shahani Group and Trustee HSNC Board was the chief guest; and Mr. Raja Mehra, Founder and CEO, Rapoline Labs, Singapore was the Guest of Honour.

Both the events followed a similar flow of events with Dr. Misha Bothra welcoming the guests followed by amazing dance performances. The students were introduced to the real wealth of H.R. College, its wide plethora of clubs and activities through a series of videos.
The guests then proceeded to inspire the students to raise the bar higher while wishing them the best of luck.

I/C Principal Dr. Pooja Ramchandani welcomed the students and motivated them with a few well-chosen and powerful words. Vice Principal Ms. Laju Sharma acquainted the students with the lecture schedules, junior college achievements and encouraged FYJC students to grab the opportunities offered by the college and make the best of their college years.

Several SYJC students and toppers narrated their journey and personal experiences, speaking about how they did not let the pandemic deter them. Another video about the faculty and clubs was presented to the students. Ms. Bhavana Shah proposed a vote of thanks.

FYJC Orientation

January 20, 2021

The orientation programme for the newly admitted junior college students of H.R College of Commerce and Economics was organised virtually on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 in two sessions. Students and their parents were formally welcomed and introduced to the culture of the college.

The Chief Guests for the event were Mr. Pratap Pinjani, Director, NCPSL, HRD Ministry and Mr. Vasant Ugar is the Head of Administration in Shipping Corporation of India, a Navratna Company under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways. Special invitee for the occasion was Mr. Kishu Mansukhani Hon’ble President, HSNC Board.

The orientation began with an inaugural ceremony followed by a video which gave a comprehensive idea about the college mission and vision statement. The new batch was shown a glimpse of the facilities of the college along with student achievements.

Next, the Chief Guests shared their inspiring words of wisdom with the students. In her address Dr. Pooja Ramchandani, I/C Principal of H.R. College, emphasised the importance of academics in the overall development of oneself. Following this a power point presentation on academic disciplines, online etiquettes, examination pattern and various other practical details was presented by the Vice Principal Ms. Laju Sharma.

A few SYJC students shared their experiences about the online lectures. The HSC toppers of 2019-2020 batch, also spoke about their experiences.

Videos introducing the various clubs of the Jr. College and the dedicated faculty of the college were shown. Dr. Navin Punjabi, Vice Principal, Degree College, also addressed the students and advised them to be focussed on academics.
