Degree - Orientation 2023-2024

B.COM ORIENTATION

August 8, 2023         Attendees: 500+ students and parents

Location: Rama & Sundri Watumull Auditorium

The First Year Degree Orientation Programme for the B. Com Course was attended by Principal Dr. Pooja Ramchandani, Vice Principals Dr. Jasbir Kaur Sodi, Dr. Rani Tyagi, and Dr. Navin Punjabi, faculty members and students. The programme started by a Ganesh Vandana performance followed by screening of the H.R. Video which showed the various programmes, events and social initiatives that took place in the year 2022-23.

Principal Dr. Pooja Ramchandani delivered the welcome address. She was grateful and proud of the various achievements of the college and the energy of the newly admitted students as she called them the leaders of tomorrow. President of The HSNC Board and Chief Guest for the event Mr. Anil Harish, delivered his address in which he motivated the students to be ready to face difficulties in pursuit of their goals without compromising on their health, passion and self- worth.

The annual college magazine Voyager 2022-23 was released by the dignitaries followed by the induction and investiture ceremony of The Students’ Council. Student Council General Secretary introduced the Core Committee members of The Students’ Council 2023-24. The members of the core committee were presented with their badges of honour. All degree college faculty of the Bachelor of Commerce course were introduced to the students by Vice Principal Dr. Navin Punjabi.

Assistant Professor Mr. Faiz Patel discussed about the recently formed Parents Connect Club. He emphasized working with the parents through the platforms of placements, guest lectures, among others. This was followed by a presentation by The International Programmes Committee about the international exposure that student would have in the college. They were given information on the community initiatives carried out by Enactus HRC. The Rotaract Club of H.R. College provided a brief description about the various social activities conducted by the club. As a part of the social initiatives undertaken by the college, The Students’ Council had teamed up with Om Creations which empowers the differently abled. Om Creations showcased their artistic creations through a small video and put up an exquisite stall in the auditorium foyer.

Principal Dr. Pooja Ramchandani praised the efforts of The Students’ Council in organising the event. Faculty-in-charge of The Students’ Council Ms. Shubadha Kanchan proposed the vote of thanks. The programme concluded with the National Anthem.

SELF FINANCE COURSES ORIENTATION

August 10, 2023         Attendees: 550+ students and parents

Location: Rama and Sundri Watumull Auditorium

The Orientation programme for the First Year Self Finance Courses was organized by The Students’ Council of H.R. College. The programme commenced with a Ganesh Vandana dance performance followed by the screening of the H.R. Video which provided a comprehensive overview of all extracurricular activities and social initiatives undertaken by H.R. College throughout the academic year 2022–2023.

Principal Dr. Pooja Ramchandani in her welcome address encouraged the students to have an immersive experience and take active part in various curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular events and activities organized throughout the academic year. A special address was given by the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Dr. Sadanand Date, the chief guest, who highlighted the importance of social media among the youth and guided the students to use them in an effective and efficient way.

The programme continued as the dignitaries released the college magazine- The Voyager, which is a compilation of all events and festivals that took place during the academic year 2022-23. It was followed by the induction of The Students’ Council and announcement of the Core Committee for the academic year 2023-24.

Faculty members of all the self-finance courses were introduced to the students. Various programmes, initiatives such as international programmes, social work, NGO collaborations, health and fitness, industrial visits, parents and alumni networks were showcased and introduced to the students. The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks and the National Anthem.
