YUVA TOURISM CLUB

The Yuva Tourism Club is a collaboration between I.T.D.C. (India Tourism) and H.R. College under the Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India directives to form Yuva Tourism Clubs at various educational institutions such as schools and colleges.

Vision of Yuva Tourism Club is to nurture and develop young ambassadors of Indian tourism who would become aware of tourism possibilities in India, appreciate our rich cultural heritage and develop an interest and passion for tourism. These young ambassadors would be catalysts for promoting tourism in India.

CHHATRAPATI SHIVAJI MAHARAJ VASTU SANGRAHALAYA

May 18, 2024

Yuva Tourism of H.R. College, in collaboration with India Tourism Mumbai, celebrated International Museum Day with a visit to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya. Members attended programs on textile care and workshops on clay and puppet making. Students explored ancient sculptures, decorative arts, and taxidermied specimens, enhancing their understanding of India’s art, history, and culture. Special thanks to Asst. Prof. Faaiz S. Patel for his support and guidance.

ENVIRONMENT DAY INITIATIVE

June 5, 2024

To celebrate Environment Day, the Yuva Tourism Club of H.R. College organized a tree-planting initiative, encouraging students to plant trees at home. Participants from various departments planted trees in gardens and community spaces, gaining hands-on experience in environmental stewardship. They documented their efforts through photos and videos, which were submitted for certificates of appreciation from India Tourism. The initiative fostered community engagement and motivated students to continue advocating for sustainability.

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY CELEBRATION

Date: June 21, 2024

Students from the Yuva Tourism Club of H.R. College celebrated International Yoga Day with a session organized by India Tourism at the Gateway of India. The event promoted physical and mental well-being and featured special guests Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis. Instructors led participants through various seated and standing yoga poses, along with a segment on acupressure points. The dignitaries emphasized yoga's importance and joined in the practice, receiving small plants as tokens of appreciation.

The Yuva Tourism Club of H.R. College visited the India Tourism Office, where they were welcomed by Assistant Director Ms. Satarupa Datta. She outlined the organization’s functions and recent developments in the tourism sector. Tourism Officer Mr. Paresh Dere presented the Ministry of Tourism's objectives, emphasizing sustainable practices and key initiatives like Swadesh Darshan, PRASHAD, and the "Incredible India" campaign. The visit offered valuable insights into the ministry's commitment to responsible tourism. Special thanks to Asst. Prof. Faaiz S. Patel for his support.

VISIT TO NATIONAL GALLERY OF MODERN ART

July 26, 2024

The Yuva Tourism Club of H.R. College organized a visit to the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) for second and third-year B.Voc. students, in collaboration with Indiatourism Mumbai and NGMA. This event was part of the 46th World Heritage Committee meeting and the ongoing Heritage Festival, focusing on "World Heritage Sites of Mumbai."

Dr. Suraj Pandit, Vice Principal of the Department of Ancient Indian Culture at Sathaye College, was the keynote speaker. He provided an insightful overview of key heritage sites, including the Elephanta Caves, Art Deco Landmarks, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Oval Maidan, and Marine Lines. Dr. Pandit highlighted the cultural and historical significance of these sites and stressed the importance of preservation for future generations.

The session engaged 160 participants, including B.Voc. students from Retail, Tourism & Hospitality Management, and Wealth Management, as well as regional guides and Yuva Tourism Club members from various colleges.

A Study Tour to Bhubaneswar, Odisha

The Yuva Tourism Club of H.R. College of Commerce & Economics had organized A Study Tour to Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The Study Tour was partly sponsored by India Tourism providing accommodation at IITTM, Bhubaneswar (Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management), meals, and experienced tour guides. The study tour aimed to provide students with a hands-on learning experience about the cultural, historical, and architectural significance of Bhubaneswar, Odisha. This immersive journey allowed students to delve into the rich heritage of the region and gain a deeper understanding of cultural diversity.

The primary objective of the study tour was to provide students with real-world exposure to the tourism industry, local traditions, and historical landmarks. By engaging directly with the local community and exploring notable attractions, they gained insights into the operational aspects of tourism, sustainable practices, and cultural preservation.

The dedication and expertise of our tour guides, the support provided by the logistics team and faculty guidance enriched our journey, providing us with detailed insights into every place we visited. Their efforts helped us connect more deeply with the places we explored and added immeasurable value to our trip.

Ek Tareek Ek Ghanta Ek Sath Swachhata Hi Seva Hai

In a concerted effort to preserve our city’s heritage and environment, The Yuva Tourism Club & House of Travellers in collaboration with the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC), proudly conducted a grand Cleanup Drive at CSMT on 1st October 2023 to give tribute to Mahatma Gandhiji on the lines of ”Ek Tareekh Ek Ghanta Ek Saath” Swachhata Abhiyaan. This community-driven initiative aimed to beautify and maintain the iconic Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) in Mumbai, a symbol of our city’s rich history and culture. A special thanks to the Faculty Incharge of the Yuva Tourism Club Asst. Prof. Faaiz S. Patel & Faculty Incharge of House of Travellers Prof. Anjli Dhanani for supporting and guiding us throughout the event.

Live Paid Project Orientation Session

The Yuva Tourism Club organized a paid project session that offered students a unique opportunity to explore the world of cruise tourism and its fascinating operations and services. During this event, Logistics Tree LLP, an experienced company specializing in port operations and the official ground handling agent for Costa Cruises, provided insights into upcoming trips covering destinations such as Mumbai, Goa, Cochin, Lakshadweep, Chennai, and Vizag.

Students were briefed on their role in handling the check-in desk, accompanying tour guides, assisting at airports for both arrivals and departures, offering valuable directions to visitors, ensuring the smooth operation of shuttle services, addressing impromptu inquiries, and showcasing their problem-solving skills. Participants were promised an experience certificate to enhance their resumes and gain significant exposure to the cruise industry, akin to having a backstage pass. Additionally, a daily allowance of RS 800 was offered as an extra incentive.

Cruise Tourism at Marella Discovery 2

The elegant Luxury Liner “MARELLA DISCOVERY 2” docked at Mumbai Port with around 1200 passengers on board. After departing from Muscat, next destinations included Goa, Colombo, and Malaysia, with a layover in Mumbai. The arrival was marked by a traditional Lezim welcome, and the Haldi Kumkum was graciously conducted by the students Yuva Tourism Club Ms. Shalakha & Mr. Mohit Assija from the college.

The Yuva Tourism Club members were given the chance to participate in the Cruise Tourism, where they warmly welcomed a group of passengers, infused the atmosphere with music and tradition, and actively engaged with the cruise staff.

CRUISE TOURISM – SEVEN SEAS NAVIGATOR

The Yuva Tourism Club organized a fascinating exploration into the world of cruise tourism, giving students a unique chance to observe its complex operations. In a standout move, students had the privilege of welcoming guests on renowned cruise liners, dressed in traditional attires that reflected cultural richness while actively participating in hospitality duties. On December 5, 2023, the Luxury Liner "SEVEN SEAS NAVIGATORS" reached Mumbai Port with 370 passengers on board. Having departed from Fujairah (Dubai), its next stops included Goa and Kochi, with a layover in Mumbai. The arrival featured a traditional Lezim welcome and students of Yuva Tourism Club Ms. Saniya Khan & Mr. Raj Patel from the college conducted the Haldi Kumkum ceremony.

This experience marked a pinnacle moment for students, offering unparalleled opportunities to delve into cruise tourism and establish valuable industry connections. Recognizing their commendable efforts, they received certificates, symbolizing a significant milestone in their academic and professional journeys.

CRUISE TOURISM — CELEBRITY MILLENNIUM

The Yuva Tourism Club arranged yet another thrilling adventure into the world of cruise tourism, giving students a special chance to see how its working procedures. In a unique move, students got to welcome guests on famous cruise ships, wearing traditional clothes that marked their culture and got an opportunity to experience working in this field by helping with the hospitality tasks. On December 10, 2023, the lavish "Celebrity Millennium" docked at Mumbai Port with 1600 passengers on board, enroute from Kochi to Goa, Colombo, Kuala Lumpur, and Pattaya. The ship received a traditional Lezim welcome, and students of Yuva Tourism Club Ms. Vaishali Tyagi & Mr. Gasif Husain from the college adorned passengers with Haldi Kumkum, blending cultural richness with warm hospitality.

CRUISE TOURISM Seabourn Encore & Bolette

Mumbai Port welcomed two luxury liners, "SEABOURN ENCORE" from Sir Bani Yas to Cochin with 372 passengers and 429 crew members, and "BOLETTE" from Salalah to Goa and Kochi with 810 passengers and 650 crew members. Students of YUVA TOURISM CLUB from H.R. College Ms. Megha Sakpal, Ms. Bhakti Shah & Ms. Sanjna Chugh, Mr. Samanvay Sehgal offered a traditional welcome, complemented by a vibrant Lezim performance to greet the tourists.

This experience served as a significant moment for students, offering them valuable insights into cruise tourism and enabling them to establish important connections within the industry.

The Ministry of Tourism launched "Yuva Tourism Clubs" under the India@75 campaign to develop young tourists. H.R. College's Yuva Tourism Club launched a junior version exclusively for FYJC and SYJC students. The launch event featured inspiring speeches and an interactive quiz competition. The club unveiled its upcoming calendar of events, which includes field trips, guest lectures, and hands-on activities. The club aims to empower students to become responsible global citizens through the lens of tourism. A special thanks to Prof. Faaiz S. World Hindi Day 10th January, 2024

On the occasion of World Hindi Day the Yuva Tourism Club at H.R. College has successfully hosted an online event in commemoration of World Hindi Day. The occasion featured an informative session on the significance of World Hindi Day, accompanied by engaging online games. These included the “Bujho Toh Jane” puzzle round, a Quiz on World Hindi Day, and an entertaining Tongue Twister round. The event concluded on a positive note with the closing speech of our faculty In-charge Asst. Prof. Faaiz S. Patel and with the announcement of the top 5 participants in the Tongue Twister round, fostering a collective love for the Hindi language. This event made us realise the beautiful essence of Hindi language and it’s culture.

Travel Talks YTC x MTDC

Yuva Tourism Club in collaboration with MTDC has organized an exciting "Travel Talks" on January 17, 2024. This event was tailored to engage our passionate tourism students in a spectrum of exciting M.T.D.C activities. The Guests of Honour Dr. Chandrashekhar Jaiswal, General Manager at MTDC & Ms. Manasi Kothari, Officer at MTDC provided an insightful discussion on the potential, difficulties & current trends facing the tourism sector. After the enlightening conversation the event took an interactive turn as the students participated in an engaging quiz called the "Magic Masti Madness Quiz" about Mumbai Fest, which was arranged by M.T.D.C. The quiz encompassed a variety of subjects pertaining to travel and tourism, Maharashtra's rich cultural legacy, and the role of MTDC in marketing the state.

The Yuva Tourism Club of H.R. College recently participated in the vibrant and energetic event, Bazaar'24, organized by the GEMS Committee. As an active member of this event, our club enthusiastically set up an engaging games stall to contribute to the overall spirit and success of the event. The stall featured three exciting games - The Dart Mate, Toss the Ball, and the One Minute Challenge Game.

The Dart Mate: The Dart Mate game brought an element of precision and accuracy to the stall. Participants were challenged to showcase their aim by throwing darts at a target, providing them with an opportunity to enhance their focus and hand-eye coordination.

Toss the Ball: Toss the Ball added an element of fun and camaraderie to the stall. Participants aimed to throw balls into designated targets, encouraging friendly competition and promoting a lively atmosphere at the event.

One Minute Challenge Game: The One Minute Challenge Game tested participants' skills and agility within a tight timeframe. This fast-paced game aimed to create a sense of urgency and excitement, fostering a dynamic and engaging experience for all involved.

PARYATAN PARV 2022, MINISTRY OF TOURISM, GOVT. OF INDIA

‘Paryatan Parv’ was a 3 day event at Mumbai aimed for promotion of tourism in India with the motto of “TOURISM FOR ALL”. The Dept. of Tourism & Hospitality, H.R. College was officially invited for the same by I.T.D.C. (India Tourism Development Corporation). The event took place at CSMVS (Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya, Kala Ghoda, Fort)

The Yuva Tourism Club was formed in collaboration with I.T.D.C. and H.R. College under the Ministry of Tourism Directive. The vision of Yuva Tourism Club is to nurture and develop young ambassadors of Indian tourism who would be aware of tourism possibilities in India, appreciate our rich cultural heritage and develop an interest and passion for tourism. These young ambassadors would be catalysts for promoting tourism in India.

The event was attended by faculty from the Dept. of Tourism & Hospitality, B.Voc. along with students of Yuva Tourism Club & House of Travellers. They met & interacted with the Union Minister of Culture & Tourism of India - Shri Shripad Yesso Naik. The students were also taken to the Museum and E Gallery with educators of CSMVS - where the students got to practically learn - Block Printing, Coin Making, Press Printing, etc.

India Tourism, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India introduced the members of Yuva Tourism Club to Cruise Tourism by exposing them to the actual docking station of the cruises where they were a part of welcoming group of the passengers.

Four members of Yuva Tourism Club got the opportunity to be a part of the cruise crew; Members served on two cruise ships named “Seven Seas Explorer” & “Azamara Quest”.

Thankful to the India Tourism, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India and faculty in-charge Mr. Faaiz S. Patel, the members of Yuva Tourism Club not only got a chance of practical learning but also got a once in a lifetime experience of being on cruise ships.

CELEBRATION OF CONSTITUTION DAY

The Yuva Tourism Club celebrated The Constitution Day on the guidelines given by Indian Tourism, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India with our faculty in-charge Mr. Faaiz S. Patel. Students from all three years attended the session and were blessed with astonishing knowledge about the Constitution of India.

The newly formed Yuva Tourism Club conducted mass reading of Constitution Preamble and screening of the short film on Constitution of India developed by India Tourism, Mumbai for students, followed by a quiz competition prepared by students for the students. The participants of the quiz received exclusive certificate and the winners received prizes from India Tourism, The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.

The students of our Yuva Tourism Club (Y.T.C.) welcomed the group of passengers and interacted with cruise staff and learnt a lot from their experience on the cruise.

MILLETS WORKSHOP IIT BOMBAY, POWAI

With the aim to create awareness and increase production & consumption of millets, United Nations, at the behest of the Government of India, declared 2023 as the International Year of Millets.

India tourism Mumbai in association with Indian Institute of Technology Bombay engaged with college students of Mumbai to spread awareness about millets to celebrate the International Year of Millets and Yuva Tourism Clubs of seven colleges of Mumbai came together in IIT Bombay to participate in a workshop. The workshop was full of interesting information, innovation and spot quiz.

WORKSHOP ON INDIAN FABRICS AND MUSEUM TOUR

Yuva Tourism Club of H.R. College in association with India Tourism Mumbai conducted a “Workshop on Fabrics and Textile of India & Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya, Museum Tour”. Members of Yuva Tourism Club with club in-charge Mr. Faaiz Patel attended the workshop. Students got the opportunity to learn about textile factories and mills, the production cycle, and the roles of textile workers. Later, they visited Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya, Museum.

Mr. Abhishek Chaurasiya and Mr. Harsh Dixit (Third Year – Tourism & Hospitality Management) were assigned to the cruise named “Fred Olsen Cruise Lines”. They had to be at the port early morning to welcome the tourists and interact with the cruise staff. This was a great learning experience.

MUMBAI KAUSTUBH - RICKY KEJ CONCERT

On 19th March, 2023 Members of Yuva Tourism Club of H.R. College attended a musical event with legendary artist Ricky Kej, 3 times Grammy award winner at Gateway of India. Throughout the evening, members were treated to a diverse range of musical genres. Overall, it was an evening that touched souls and left all with a newfound appreciation for the power of music.

They welcomed the group of passengers with a lot of warmth, music & tradition & also interacted with the cruise staff.

India's Cruise Tourism is concentrated in Mumbai, where cruise ships are frequently docked with foreign passengers. Members of the Yuva Tourism Club were exposed to the actual docking station of the cruise ships when they were made a part of the greeting party of the passengers by India Tourism, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. Luxury Liner "Seabourn Encore" arrived at the Mumbai Port with 800 passengers on board. In Mumbai, India Tourism and two students of Yuva Tourism Club of H.R. College offered a traditional welcome to the group of passengers and interacted with the cruise staffs.

Mumbai is the primary destination for cruise travellers in India, and there are many international tourists who board cruise ships there. The India Tourism, Ministry of Tourism, and Government of India exposed members of the Yuva Tourism Club to the real docking point of the cruise ships where they were a part of the greeting & welcoming of the passengers, giving them an introduction to cruise tourism.

Once again on 1st April two members of the Yuva Tourism Club were given the chance to participate in “Cruise Tourism”. Mr. Akshat and Ms. Pakzeen were assigned to the cruise ship named “VIKING NEPTUNE,” where they offered a traditional welcome to all cruise passengers.

There are many foreign tourists who board cruise ships in Mumbai, which is the main port of call for cruise travellers in India. Members of the Yuva Tourism Club were given an introduction to cruise tourism by India Tourism, the Ministry of Tourism, and the Government of India by taking them to the actual cruise ship docking location where they assisted in greeting and welcoming guests.

Two members of Yuva Tourism Club Mr. Dweep Sanghvi & Ms. Swara Patil were given a chance to participate in “Cruise Tourism”. Luxury Liner “Seven Seas Mariner” arrived at Mumbai Port Trust with 595 passengers on board.

India Tourism, the Ministry of Tourism, and the Government of India took members of the Yuva Tourism Club to a cruise ship docking spot where they helped greet and welcome tourists as part of their introduction to cruise tourism.

Two Luxury Liners Cruise Ship named “Insignia” with 572 passengers and “Amadea” with 863 passengers arrived at Mumbai Port. India Tourism Mumbai and the Yuva Tourism Club Members of H.R. College Ms. Heena, Mr. Keshav, Ms. Zainab & Mr. Suyog offered a traditional welcome to all the passengers on board.

Luxury Cruise Liner ‘Viking Mars’ arrived at Mumbai Port Trust with 833 passengers on board. India Tourism Mumbai organised a traditional welcome for all the disembarking passengers. They welcomed the group of passengers with a lot of warmth, music & tradition & also interacted with the cruise staff.

College, Ms. Jiya Saha and Mr. Dhruv Shah. With 450 passengers aboard, MS Nautica docked in Mumbai, where the passengers received a heartfelt welcome. Cruise tourism plays a vital role in the tourism industry, benefiting numerous service providers and businesses. India is eagerly anticipating the development of new ports and terminals along the coastline, which will further boost cruise tourism in the upcoming season.

The members of the Yuva Tourism Club had the privilege of participating in the Cruise Tourism event. They warmly greeted a group of passengers, infused the atmosphere with music and tradition, and actively interacted with the cruise staff. The students expressed their sincere appreciation to India Tourism, the Ministry of Tourism, the Government of India, and their club's in-charge, Mr. Faaiz Patel, for providing them with this exciting new opportunity and introducing them to it.

College. Participation in Bazaar enhanced entrepreneurship skills and provided opportunity for students to generate income and employment.
